The world today faces many social, political and religious conflicts – which often have international dimensions. The research group Conflict, coercion and authority in history (CCA) traces their historical origins. We examine and explore the themes of conflict and conflict resolution, coercion, crime and punishment, and the communication and exercise of spiritual and secular authority in and across societies from Antiquity to the modern day.
The research group is hosted by the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University
