Former PhD student selected for The Obama Foundation Leaders Europe program

For her focus on online learning, ICT and migrants Sahra-Josephine Hjorth, a former PhD student at Department of Politics and Society, is invited to be a part of a six-months program run by US ex-president Barack Obama.

Over six months of 2022 former PhD student Sahra-Josephine Hjorth will join virtual meetings with in all 35 young talents from government and private sector in Europe to discuss some of the most challenging issues confronting Europe.

This January she was selected to be a part of The Obama Foundation Leaders Europe program, which is a leadership development and civic engagement program that seeks to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders from across Europe.

ONLINE LEARNING START-UP

Sahra-Josephine Hjorth is the co-founder and CEO at CanopyLAB, an educational technology company founded in Copenhagen in 2015. The companys goal is to improve how people learn online.

According to CanopyLAB they connect nearly one million youth with more than 120 NGOs and provides “thought-provoking content and skills-based training” focusing on sexual and reproductive rights, climate action, health, democracy, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
