10th Nordic Working Life Conference this September

10th Nordic Working Life Conference this September

Keynote speakers from the US, GB and DK will present at the ten-year anniversary conference. New call for papers.

Last modified: 11.06.2020

The theme of the Nordic Working Life Conference (NWLC) 2020 is the changing nature of Nordic working life, labour markets, industrial relations and employment relationships.

Around the world, Nordic labour markets are acclaimed for strong economic performance, social security, high equality, collective bargaining, job quality and high social trust. However, changes in the nature of work and modern capitalism are challenging and transforming the Nordic labour markets.

New technologies and digital work platforms change employment relationships and working conditions. Polarization and precarization of the labour market reduce income equality and social trust. Labour migration and new preferences challenge traditional collective bargaining systems.

New call for papers

The conference addresses among other things the history, evolution and sustainability of the Nordic models, the similarities and differences between the Nordic countries, how current challenges are handled and working life is transforming in the Nordic countries.

The 10th Nordic Working Life Conference is in Aalborg (Denmark) from 28 - 29 September 2020. We welcome researchers and practitioners from within and outside the Nordic countries to participate in the conference. We have re-opened for submissions of new abstracts due to the postponement of the conference. Please submit your abstract no later than 1 July 2020

Carlsbergfondet is a sponsor of The Nordic Working life Conference. It was postponed due to COVID-19 from the original date in June.
