POSTPONED! Invitation to conference and debate: SDG in relation to displacement
POSTPONED! Migration, voluntary as well as forced, is one of the key global challenges of the 21st century. There are clear linkages between migration and development, and migration and refugee issues have become part of the main global agenda. While some countries are concerned with restricting the flow of migration in their respective countries, others understand migration as a source of common development.

The UN has called for joint action and increased cooperation between countries and regions with the aim to facilitate a secure, regulated and responsible migration and mobility policy, where SDG 10 plays a central role in its implementation. In addition to SDG 10, issues of mobility and flight are also relevant to other SDG’s on gender, conflict, cities, climate and natural resources.
The question is, how do we define the SDG related to migration and flight? How and to what extent can the SDG be used in the work on migration and flight - and what are the hands-on experiences from people within this field?
This conference will shed light upon these questions at a meeting where actors from different sectors (trade union movement, civil society, private actors, the university, government agencies and politicians) share and discuss their work in the area of tension between migration, flight and world goals.
In the first part of the conference, a number of actors will present on how they work with, define and implement the SDG’s in relation to migration and escape. The second part consists of a panel debate between a number of key players who will discuss the applicability of the world goals to actors in the area of migration. (Note that the panel debate will be in Danish). Finally, it will be possible to participate in a café event that takes the form of a job- project- and internship fair between external organizations and the university's students.
