MIX Conference: Displacement, migration and integration – out of the silo
Join the Center for Displacement, Migration, and Integration (MIX) inter-disciplinary conference on June 6-7 in Nordkraft, Aalborg. This time – leave the academic paper reading in the hindsight, and join the conversations and open discussions about how service design, health services, urban planning, and energy planning affect the future of migration.
Time
06.06.2023 - 07.06.2023
Description
Social science and humanities have dominated discussions about displacement, migration and integration for good reasons. The discussions frequently revolve around political systems, language, national identity, welfare systems, human rights of refugees and migrants, and cultural issues. But what happens if we include technical sciences, design studies, health science and architecture in the discussions? Can we produce new questions and new insights? Can we begin to imagine new solutions to the challenges raised by displacement, migration and integration? Can we ‘see’ something that we did not understand before? This conference will address these questions through a host of panels that all transcend normal disciplinary boundaries to elicit a different kind of dialogue.
