The Department of Politics and Society is a vibrant focal point for research and teaching activities that cover a wide span of social issues, emphasising both the past and the present. The department regularly organises different events in order to facilitate and stimulate scholarly discussions. Such events include small workshops, symposia, (PhD) seminars as well as large conferences involving both students, staff and invited scholars from around the world.

The Danish Special Act on Ukrainian Displaced Persons
Presenters Lindholm and Al-Sami endeavor in this seminar to explain the background and scope of the 'Danish Special Act on Ukrainian Displaced Persons'. They aim also to compare the Act with previous special acts relating to war refugees in Denmark as well as to the EU Temporary Protection Directive, enacted in response to the influx of Ukrainian refugees. Finally, the situation of persons not included under the Act is considered.

The aim of this seminar is to address and discuss how intersectionality can help us to explore how the markers of racialisation intersects with other markers such as gender, class, sexuality, nationality etc. within the context of Europe.

Invitation to PhD workshop on "Feminist Methodologies: Workshop on Field Relations and Methodological Reflections”
This course on feminist methodologies addresses both those explicitly employing a poststructuralist feminist methodology, but also those simply curious about how such an approach may inform concrete fieldwork. The target group for the course includes both those about to do fieldwork and those who would like to engage in further reflection on the outcome of already accomplished fieldwork.
