Xinrui Xu’s research focuses on transnational urban phenomena in 19th and 20th century. She will figure out why and how the playground which was popular in Europe and America was transmitted to Chinese cities and how the Chinese local culture transformed the playground. This research will throw a light on the process of reconcile global with local.
